What's New at Everglades Area Tours

Summer Schedule As always, we will be open and conducting tours all summer.  For the most part, however, we are only operating the morning tours.  The afternoon thunder storms put too much of a damper on things.   We can schedule an afternoon tour, but the days conditions dictate what we can actually.  The afternoon and the multiday tours will begin again in October.

Recent Sightings Several of the rookeries are in high gear with snowy egrets, white herrings, brown pelicans and tri-color herons are still on nests.  The many of the chicks have fledged already. The black-neck stilts have all fledged and are off the nests with the rising fresh water.  The rosette spoonbills are roosting in their favorite mangroves. There are so many in the mornings that trees look like pink snow cones.  Many of the orchid species are blooming as well. Manatees, Dolphins, Loggerhead Turtles, Swallow-Tailed Kites and Bald Eagles are encountered on most every day.  Summer is awesome!

Our Newest Location in Goodland - just minutes from Marco Island.  We are very excited about our expansion.  Goodland allows easier access to the Western 10,000 islands and the Rookery Bay National Marine Esturary.   Being right down the road from Marco, we should be able to service our Marco guest easily.  With our Kayak Transport Boat moored at the Calusa Marina, we will begin by offering a selection of morning tours & Power Boat ECO Tours, Boat Assisted Kayak ECO tours, Tradition Kayak ECO tours and Kayak Fishing Trips.

4th of July KAYAK PARTY at Marker 8 Restaurant.  To kick-off our newest location, we will host a KAYAK PARTY on the 4th.   It should be a lot of fun for the whole family.  Jimmy at the Marker 8 is having live music and doing a BBQ pig roast.   Door Prizes, Kayak Races, Raffles, Kayak Scavenger Hunt and a winner-take-all kayak fishing scramble.  Good food, good people, good music and good drink will make for a good time.  Watch the website for more details.  In the meantime, contact Jason at Everglades Area Tours 239-695-3633 or Jimmy at the Marker 8 Restaurant.  See you there
